Environmental Impacts

A wide range of potential environmental resource impacts and land use issues are relevant to biomass and fossil fuel development. These impacts include water availability and usage, land development patterns and surface disturbance, and emission of air pollutants such as mercury, particulate matter, NOx, and greenhouse gases. ISCE researchers provide the technical and legal expertise necessary to better understand the context of the impacts and to explore engineering solutions for impact mitigation.
